C&H Last Call Animatic

This is owned by Explosm Entertainment, but I drew and animated everything here! This is an animatic, not the final animation, but if you're interested in how it turned out, click here to watch Last Call on YouTube!

Song choice was blatantly a Heavy Metal easter egg from me, lmao.

This marked the beginning of a period of time where I was focusing on keeping it fast and loose so I could be ahead of deadlines and leave ample time for notes.

This one especially needed time for notes because there was some debate on how to get the "blood-balancing" sequence right. If I remember correctly, I wanted to do a shot that panned back and forth between the patrons as they got more sober and more drunk, but I think it was Joel that pressed for it to be a medium shot on all three, with the doctor in the middle doing a see-saw motion with the IV cable.

Usually when I red-ink something, it's a note that the design is pretty far detached from how it's going to look finalized, but if I'm being real for a second, that's everything I do in animatics lol.

The red ink was me being sloppy and fast, and it's also indicative of my panic and anxiety as I was crunching to meet these deadlines. I've said it before and I'll say it again, my pipeline and time management skills have drastically improved, but this is where I was when I did this in late 2017. Panicked, anxious, and getting fast and loose with it. I was on anti-depressants for the first time in my life, and they weren't working out for me, and in a way, I think that shows.
