This is owned by Cyanide & Happiness, but I drew and animated everything here! This is an animatic, not the final animation, but if you're interested in how it turned out, click here to watch The Penny Farthing on YouTube!

This was originally done in February of 2016- a really morbid short that got under a lot of fan's skins. I was still pretty inexperienced in my composition, and I think it shows when you watch this and how the final animation side-by-side.
Everyone was really supportive in teaching me a few things after the fact, including Bill Jones, our animation director, giving some advice and adapting a certain shot looking at the wagon wheels in disgust. Denise Magdale, our background artist, threw in a rendering of my face in a wanted poster at the store-front, and the character designer pretty much went 1/1 on the Penny Farthing horse, which I was really proud of.
Directed by Mike Salcedo
Screenplay by Joel Watson
Story by Joel Watson, Evan Petersen, Kris Wilson, and Rob DenBleyker
Featuring the voice of Even Petersen

This one is very fitting in black and white due to it's old timey nature and theme. How did he pay for those upgrades? It doesn't look like he had traded any of his stuff for it. Did he perhaps have prepaid horse leg insurance cards?
What with the big hat, clean shave, and fancy clothes, he always read to me like a lucrative businessman of the time. I just assumed he had the spare cash.
