I wouldn't be so harsh as to say "sub-par", because for a pixel animated demo of a game, that was actually incredibly fantastic.
The level of detail on the girl, despite being pixel art, is amazing... it's pretty hard to pull off form and shape in pixel art without making it look too blocky but the way she's drawn, she looks pretty smooth and I almost mistook her for regular 2D drawn art. I'm just disappointed that your demo was actually just more of a run cycle.
I was hoping there'd be more to it (besides the end scene) but so far, it's looking pretty damn great.
