Hey! To start this decade right, we believe Newgrounds should be ad-free for EVERYONE. For this to work, we need people who have the means to become paying supporters. For just $3 per month or $25 for the year, you can help this happen and get some nice perks!

For the month of April we have disabled ads on all E-M content. We need 94 people to reach our goal of 3,100 active supporters. If we hit that, we'll continue with a new goal in May!

Please check out our Supporter Upgrade and consider coming aboard!

It's a cold world. How long can you escape the growing snowball behind you?

Use mouse or keyboard to move. Avoid trees and rocks, they will slow you down. Collect a ring for temporary invulnerability. The snowball will crush you if you can't keep up, so just keep skiing forever.

Made from scratch with HTML5 and Javascript for #RemakeJam. Based on a TI-82 game I made over 20 years ago. You can read the postmortem on my blog.

I love how it is fast-paced

music credits please

edit: ok i like the music where can i download or listen?

KilledByAPixel responds:

I made the music myself in the iKaossilator app on iPhone.

Not bad. reminds me of the old atari version, but I didn't see a Yeti on this one.

KilledByAPixel responds:

Thank you, I think maybe you are thinking of Ski Free, but that game was not by Atari. There was a ski game for Atari 2600 though that both Ski Free and this game were inspired by. My goal was to simplify while amping up the speed and difficulty.

its just free ski I think its called?

KilledByAPixel responds:

SkiFree was a pretty fun game back in the day, but I think if you watch a video of it, you'll notice that this game is very different. Really the only similarity is that the dressing for both is skiing.

It's a good (though not terribly original) concept. It needs something to encourage replayability to make it better.

KilledByAPixel responds:

Thanks for your feedback! For this game I just wanted to make something as simple as possible. It is my first html5 game and the entire game including engine is only about 1000 lines of code.

I agree with you about replayability but I did add some stuff to help. The track is randomly generated so it is different every time. Your highscore is tracked in a cookie so it stay across visits. Also the challenge ramps up pretty quickly so it's hard to last longer then a minute or so.
