Well, It took me a couple tries to actually understand it, but that doesn't mean I completely do. This was a fun short game :T
Logical Gate is a Puzzle Game create witch Puzzle Script where you have to activate the Reciver with some wire cable.
=== Controls ===
Arrow Key - Move
X - Activate the emitter
Z - Cancel action
Play it on Puzzlescript (mobile support) : https://www.puzzlescript.net/play.html?p=c2d24eb2b28cbfd276b10996eba29336
Hack the code : https://www.puzzlescript.net/editor.html?hack=c2d24eb2b28cbfd276b10996eba29336
If you create some level, you can share it in the comment, I add it to the game!

it has an above average concept but isnt exactly a great game because of it. Looking forward to a second more developed game
I love logic gate puzzles, but it slows down tremendously, to the point where the level with a timed input is unplayable.
Good concept, poor execution.
Want a better review, huh? Well, allow me to step in.
As a proof of concept, this game is ok. A boolean logic puzzle game has been done before. Logical Element was also quite literally the first thing that came to mind, tho scriptwelder's more iconic Gates of Logic is a better take that both this and the aforementioned game. Regardless, there's still so much room to explore if done correctly. There are good ideas: some more difficult gates (like NOR) and timers are welcomed.
But the game itself is so barebones it hurts. For starters, graphical presentation is almost non-existent. Pixelated logic gates and other elements look awful. And the control scheme is indeed bad. Why would you want to even move the cursor across the entire logic scheme, if you only control the inputs themselves? For simple schemes you have in the game (and i'll get to the levels in a moment), it kinda works, but imagine having circuits with 8 or more inputs, where you sometimes want to quickly toggle a specific one. Mouse controls would've been ideal, and just assigning numbers corresponding to inputs and toggling them on with a keyboard would've been optimal. Now, I do get that those are the limitations of the engine in question. But i'd argue that if the final product isn't evidently quite good, was using the engine worth the hustle?
I would've excused the shoddy presentation if the puzzles themselves were decent. However, the first seven are essentially tutorial levels that are self-evident and require absolutely no effort to complete, and the tenth and the last one is also a tutorial puzzle on timers, AFTER you've introduced said timers. Also, the eighth puzzle is bugged: repeatedly pressing on an input results in an illogical level completion. I guess it's due to the signal's "Inertness" in a sense. (for whatever illogical reason, it's delayed. Again, engine limitations?) So, there's not much gameplay in this game either. Take any computer science problem book concerning logic gates and truth tables, and boom shakalaka, you have content for the game. Imagine having to use (albeit simple) integrated circuits, etc etc. The possibilities are endless.
Overall, even as a "Test the new engine" kind of game, it still doesn't hold up well. Don't get discouraged tho, i feel you can make this work, given polish, time, different engine and a more creative approach to the idea. 1/5, 2/10.
Thanks for your comment! This explain the default so this is a better review!
So! For the controls, art and other, it's, like you say, from the engine. When I start this game, I work first with PICO-8 and I give up (because I've over project at this time). And I want to create a game with Puzzlescript and this idea of game with logical gate came again. So I can do a better game with an other engine (with no latences and other problem) but I don't want and at this time I want to use puzzlescript and this game is the better to use it I think.
For the latences and problem when resolve and spam, again, it's from the engine, I've try to made the better with the tool and whis (basics) skills I've. So it's not perfect. And for the number of level, it's what I said with the other review, at this time I don't have the idea for other levels. But now I think I'm going to create more levels. I've other idea of gate so I can add some other things.
And yes, it's a "Test an engine game" but I want to post it to have some review and comment about it because have some feedback is always benefic (if the feedback is a little complete and explain the problem)
