Hey peeps ! Do you remember the time of sprite movies in the early 2000s ? MK vs SF, Street Fighter Epic, Street Fighter Series, Mortal Kombat : A Freakin Spoof...you name it. There were TONS of those flash movies, and Street Fighter TUS (The Untold Story) was one of them. It has been uploaded more than 10 years ago, in 2005, here on Newgrounds. It was a 3-parts video made by Big-Dave in his college years. I had the opportunity to have contact with him once in private message in 2011, I was really happy to have a reply of him because SF TUS always was one of my favorite flash movie.

And now, in 2018, 13 freaking years later, Street Fighter TUS is back ! For my first contribution on NG, I decided to make a complete remake of the 3 TUS movies, even if I'm not the creator of the original ones. Pretty much everything has been redone, but I really wanted to be as much faithful to the original as possible, so the battle choreography and the dialogs have been modified to the minimum, I changed some moves and some grammar (it may not be perfect though, I'm french). I couldn't change the scenario or anything like that, some moves are a little weird too, but anyway. I always wanted to do a sprite movie, but I never knew exactly how to use Flash, so you know what they say : better later than never.

Normally, all the sprite movies are made with SF3 sprites, but this one is different. You asked for it, now you have it : a sprite movie with SFIV and SFV graphics ! It was really a pain in the butt to make (it took me about 2 months, although I didn't worked on it 24h/24 and every days of course), and the final result is not perfect (you can see the flaws if you look closely). It still needs some work, but I think it's satisfying enough. The movie is supposed to be 720p 60fps, but I don't know if you will see it.

The main difference/difficulty in this video when using SFIV or V 3D models compared to SF3 sprites, it's the size of the characters. They are huge compared to the background. They can move fewer compared to the original video. Also, the shadows and the smokes are annoying, I have changed the games' files and replaced them by green/blue background and recorded me when playing the game like that. It's almost one video for one move. As you may imagine : this is very tedious work. Not sure if this is the best way to do it.

A HUGE thanks to Capcom for having made SFIV and V and for having given the possibility to remove the HUD (lifebars, etc...) in the options, and to the modders' community of course.

I don't know if Big-Dave will ever see this video one day, and I know the golden age of Newgrounds and Flash is probably over, but whatever. I really enjoyed making this video, so maybe I'll do another one someday, a totally original creation and not a remake this time.
