The music is definitely the best part about this video, although the party scene made me interested in the story and the subsequent race scene was beautifully animated and paced really well. Alter-native captures the rest of my thoughts on this. Overall I like it, and again, the music is just eargasmic.

The Finishing Line

I do have some mixed feelings on the character designs, which I feel are crude, angular, inconsistent, imitations of anime designs, but though they lack qualities from professional manga art, but they are surprisingly animated very well. Everything is at least animated well in this short with a smooth framerate and proper use of light and shadow. The CGI is actually quite good and on model. And everything else such as the rain and lighting effects are incredibly top notch.

It almost reminds me of Initial D, except with Formula 1 style racing cars instead of ricer mod Hondas and Civics.

The art and animation are pretty good, but the 2D looks better than the 3D. The biggest problem are the voices, which are pretty quiet and accented so they can be hard to understand. You might wanna tone down the music and car sounds when people are talking. If you need help with voice acting, you can always ask in the forums here on Newgrounds. The music is good. Nothing too interesting happened, I feel. The race wasn't that tense since there was barely nay buildup and it happened right in the first episode. Then again, I'm not very into racing so maybe it was that. I can see potential in this, keep it up!
