In summary:
Very interesting, short but sweet, neat little game idea!
First, let's talk about the looks. While the game doesn't look all too great, it is all that is needed for something as short and sweet as this. The graphics serve their purposely perfectly well enough, and it's not like they're so bad they're eyesores. The glowing is actually quite interesting theming, in my opinion giving the game a quite futuristic, sci-fi feel, which coincides perfectly with the laser turrets and game idea in general.
Speaking of the aforementioned laser turrets, they are both good and bad. This is because, on one hand, they serve what is presumably their purpose of making sure the ball is constantly moving and doesn't get stuck, however, on the other hand, they can also slow down the gameplay quite a bit when they shoot the ball from the same direction the ball is travelling. Overall though, it doesn't really matter too much as the ball will get shot again soon after, making it's pilgrimage towards one of the goals on either side of the table.
The music is slightly dodgy, it seems too fast paced for what is actually happening, especially with the aforementioned "issue" with lasers. This, of course, doesn't really matter, as it is only music but, a mute button could've served well.
The multi-ball game mode is entertaining, but seems a lot like it is just a gimmick, there is not really too much gameplay when it comes to the multi-ball game mode however, the default game is very entertaining and utilises a unique idea perfectly!
The GUI is simple and easy to navigate and, while it isn't too aesthetically pleasing, it does it's job well.
The AI is smart enough to be somewhat challenging however it is mostly quite dumb. It is all that is needed for presenting an idea like this in my opinion, although the difficulty could definitely be ramped up at least a couple notches!
The 2 player mode I am yet to try however I can already tell that is where the most fun will be had, playing against someone else with a similar intellect will add a lot more challenge to the game and possibly make them last longer, which is definitely needed considering the lasers barely get fired otherwise. Which is sad, as they are a very interesting mechanic and method of preventing the ball from becoming stuck.
Personally, I think the game could definitely benefit from more options, such as setting the win requirements and changing difficulty of AI, maybe even settings for the lasers - how fast they fire, how often a new turret will appear, and such.
Either way, currently this is a wonderful little idea I don't think I have seen before and I would love for this to be expanded upon!
