Is Cyber Monday too calm for you? Do you crave the intensity of the midnight brawls on Black Friday, but don't quite have what it takes to look a man in the eye before you knock his teeth out over a toaster oven?

Fear not! From the comfort of your home, you can participate in this runner! Survive as long as you can, then buy upgrades to increase your survivability. Try topping the scoreboards, too! WASD/arrows to move, and spacebar to attack.

Hey, just logged into NG for the first time in forever and saw this. Thanks for tagging me! Great job on finishing up the game. Let me know if you should ever have need of a programmer again.

Intrapath responds:

Of course I'd tag you! Most of the game's coding was done by you, I just cleaned up bits and pieces. It's so cool to see you come back. Also, feel free to go putting this wherever you like to push your brand! I'll give you the source files if you need 'em, just email or message me.

A fun game trying to survive Black Friday. Could use more upgrades and weapons.

The medal works, and I earned it.

Intrapath responds:

Glad to hear you enjoyed! Also glad to see that you came back for the medal. There's actually an update coming soon with some more content, so perhaps you'll enjoy that too!

I think it would be cooler if there were more upgrades. But that would feel almost like toss the turtle.. Idk. It's so short..

Intrapath responds:

Aha, you mentioning Toss the Turtle brings me back, love that game. Anyway, I'm aiming to have a little more content out in time for Christmas, so I'm hoping you enjoy that if you decide to play again. Either way, thank you for taking the time to play and review!

is it really just your fists?

Intrapath responds:

That it is! Fun fact: in an old design doc, the store didn't have attribute upgrades, but weapons (ranging from spoon, golf club, bowling ball, to gun). The reason for this would be to use against bosses which you'd fight at the end of a level, and you'd fight in an enclosed space. At the end of the day, the sudden stop and shift to a new gameplay style didn't gel with what was already in place.

I didn't find this game to capture the feeling of Black Froday at all because the store was actually much too empty. There were scarcely any people there.

The diversity of people sprites is low, just 4 different people and only one of them a female, creating an unnatural sex ratio.

The gameplay is too monotonous and easy. After all upgrades I found it impossible to lose until getting bored and sleepy.

The upgrades are unlocked too easily and fast, unlocked them all after just two attempts.

The graphics and music are the only solid parts of this game.

The game needs more depth, like more different enemies both visually and in their behavior, more different attacks, more items in shop. To fit a black Friday game the enemy density would have to bee at least 10x higher.

Intrapath responds:

First off, just wanted to say thanks for the in-depth review! Here's just a few points in response:

- One of the characters is designed to be androgynous; you can hear both a male and female scream from them upon death. Though this doesn't quite evenly balance the sex ratio, it's something to keep in mind.

- At the very least, the Christmas update will have another difficulty mode which ramps things up, and this may address some of your concerns about monotony and easiness. I have ideas of what else the update can include to shake things up, but nothing's set in stone.

Once again, it's really great to read reviews like this that address different points specifically, and give suggestions as to what can be improved. This sort of thing is invaluable to me going forward. Thanks again!
