good game! but...i want a second part...
simply put, great game!!!
Highly addicting game. Currently Level 22. Easily the most expandable game to date other than another island 8 bit game, that was just finished this summer.
Encountered some interesting incidents:
1. Wyrms could eat through the Concrete Walls of the magic/scientists room.
Now I have to fill all the holes with nets to be safe from rampaging Wyrms.
2. Experienced the Uncatchable/Unstoppable Wyrm, which just left molts/copies of itself in the net, but you could still pick up as a "caught Wyrm".
3. I don't know if this was planned, but for a while if you disarmed your character the enemies went away. Thought that was a nice little feature. Don't be hostile and the world won't be hostile either.
This changed in 1.06, so I don't know if that was a glitch being corrected or a result of the update, simply updating that reference.
Love the fishing!
Love the mining and the hidden stone creatures/golems in the hard rock.
Only problem is that the mining component is limited, with nothing to get you to go down deep after the initial clearing of the frames.
Perhaps you could have the underground terrain replace itself, after it's fully mined, like you went to another level deeper in the strata.
The dialogue is nice in the hut.
However, what do the rusty axes mean, in terms of the story regarding what type of ship crashed and left you "Aground". I mean it is implied that we are a space faring race, that is in conflict, but the enemy doesn't seem to want to bother with this planet. It seems weird that so many "Rusty Axes" are just lying in the water, if this place wasn't colonized by someone previously.
The dragon Pens seem to be able to hold 4 creatures, 2 Wyrm and 2 Baby Dragons. I think that would help in getting bloodstone, otherwise you will need to hunt the wild Wyrms instead of just catching them with the nets.
The bow is a fun way to hunt the Wyrms, and the critical hit system is great too.
I probably played the game too much, and prepared too much material just in case of things to come, but I have no idea where the game is going. It was fun to cook, trade, mine, hunt, fish, collect, harvest and explore.
I know there are ways to alleviate the build up of certain types of raw food, but the making of most of the foodstuffs require wheat, which really limits the ability to process meat in a balanced way. I suggest making a "Dbl. Burg' and a "Db. Chz. Burg" in order to balance out the quadruple wheat, and double milk processing with the way to use double the meats. The steak value is too low to want to use the meat in that way, but with resource accumulation needed to build the hamburger and cheeseburger options. it doesn't allow the meat to be used as quickly as the other resources proportionately, especially with the builder dropping meat and berries alternatingly as you go about your business.
Anyhow, It is a fun and well rounded game that allows for many timed actions to take place in a repetitive manner that, helps you get settled on this launching point for more adventures on upcoming island and other expansions.
Looking forward to the future of this game.
I'm glad you liked the game! The wyrms eating through the stones around the alchemist's lab has already been changed for the next update (it was a bug that let them spawn there, usually they can't eat stone). And you aren't the first to mention the unstoppable wyrms, but neither me or our testers have been able to reproduce it. It is definitely an error, as if the script completes, the wyrm is removed. Next time it happens, try hitting F12 to bring up the developer console and send me the log, then I might finally figure out what's causing it!
The unarmed, no enemies wasn't really a bug or a feature. Before, if you had no weapon, no enemy would spawn, but you could never get rid of the stone axe, so it was just a way to force the game to not spawn enemies until you could fight back. When I allowed you to put the stone axe back in storage, I eventually changed it so enemies wouldn't spawn until you got the storehouse. This kept the same behavior as before, but for a while, if you were unarmed, there were no boars spawning.
Instead of replacing the underground terrain, when you get the sail boat, there will eventually be more islands available. So, eventually you'll have plenty to do and should never run out of stuff to mine (and probably not even mine entire areas out, as new areas will unlock before you do).
There WAS a civilization on this planet before you crashed there (I'll get more into that part of the story later). The real question is why they had such a thing for rusty axes (or maybe non-rusty axes back when they made them), as they seem to have littered the sea with them :P . I'll have to make them axe worshipers.
Dragons will have more uses than just sitting there on the cage... soon.
Yeah, I can add more meat cooking options. A Dbl Burger sounds pretty good.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game and are looking forward to the future of it! We have a lot more planned for future updates!
I can't describe how good this is.
I can already see this becoming a paid game...
