One of the last human survivors, you find yourself stranded on an uninhabited island. With a few other victims of the crash, can you craft, mine, and build your way to survival?

Updates can be seen in my news feed: https://davidmaletz.newgrounds.com/news/

Aground was designed around the theme of Progression, and inspired by Utopian Mining and other mining/crafting games. You start out with almost nothing, and you can eventually build your way up to a thriving settlement.

Currently, you can only explore and build on the first few islands, but we have lots of plans for expansion, and the sky is literally not the limit. Check out our Kickstarter ( http://kck.st/2rSTnGZ ) to support these expansions!

We're planning to continue developing Aground based on feedback and suggestions from players, so definitely send me a message or post in our subreddit ( https://www.reddit.com/r/aground/ ) or discord ( https://discord.gg/69Jj6MB ) to determine the course of this game.

Controls are explained in game, and it can be played with keyboard or gamepad. The mouse can also be used to navigate menus (but is not required).

For players who want to play on multiple computers/versions of the game: Save files can be exported from the Options menu on the title page and imported by dragging and dropping the save file into the game.

Five minutes into it and it's fabulous! A free castaway game! Gosh! I've wished that so much when "The Sims Castaway" was launched for mobile a GOOD amount of years ago (and it was expensive, wth).
So great work! I love it!

Great game, except for one thing. I had 4 hours worth of saved work, and it is gone. I made an account, slept in the hut and everything. Even resetting the page will not help! I will rate this game 5 stars once this is fixed.

davidmaletz responds:

If you're using Aground Cloud, make sure you let it sync. It'll ask you if you want to stay on the page if it needs to sync, so don't hit leave. Sabrina made a video detailing how it works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrBTszk-36A&t=2s . Importing and exporting saves also works (title page -> options). The local browser saves work too - they are just easy to lose (they are only stored on the browser/computer you were playing on, and clearing browser history or programs like CCleaner can wipe them).

Love the game totally hooked!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

But please someone tell me if there is a way of saving without having to go to the hut while mining!! I killed those demonic pigs hundreds of times and because I forget to go to the hut I keep loosing the progress!!! T ^ T

How do I not die as soon as I enter the Yeti and mud Golem portals??

davidmaletz responds:

There are a few save points (the hunter's tent, the boat, the hut), but there's no mobile save point yet that'd let you save anywhere (I'm considering adding one though).

As for not dying when entering the caves, make sure you bring lots of health-restoring food and have good equipment. All of the caves (except one) are high difficulty and should not be entered lightly!

This is a masterpiece of design mate. Didn't expect this game to be this good at all. 10/10

It's a truly wonderful, classic style RPG. I make this review with total understanding that the game is a work-in-progress, but the setup is wonderful and fills me with that childhood nostalgia from playing my SNES.

I cannot recommend this game enough if you're into your classic-RPG's. 10/10 5/5 for you my man!
