Interesting! I had not heard of this folklore before!
Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.
The shellycoat is a type of boogeyman comes from Scottish & Northern English folklore that haunts rivers and streams. The name "Shellycoat" comes from the coats they wear made of shells that rattle upon movement. They're usually harmless and may mislead wanderers particularly those in invade their territory. I found it interesting to paint this creature as the shells are pretty and adding the sparkly effect brought the beauty out a bit more. I think my hands need a bit more work though but other than that it came out almost as good as my sazae-oni.
Recorded with HyperCam 2 & painted in Photoshop CS5.
