Very early demo but I hope this gives you a good idea of how the game will play! - Feedback would be much appreciated!

The Kickstarter is online until 1st Feb 2017. Check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/letsplayretrogames/super-donuts-a-new-16-bit-style-platformer-game Roll a Donut around many fun and colourful levels, collecting sweets as you go. Make use of a variety of power ups throughout the levels and navigate your way through obstacles and enemies unique to each world.

Each level also contains several hidden Baby Donuts to track down as well as one hidden sweet to find per level and plenty of enemies just waiting to take a bite out of you!


Excellent production value! The fast, slippery way the character moves makes it satisfying to play. I kept feeling the urge to jump though - I don't know much about game design but I feel even a small jump ability would significantly improve the way it feels.

I found I was unsure how to complete the level until I went back and did the tutorial. I think it was because at first play I couldn't figure out what the giant donut meant. Maybe if you changed it to something that signifies an exit, like a candy themed locked door, it would make the objective more clear for players without needing an aid.

Thanks for the great review and feedback, really appreciate it! The game has come on quite a lot since that demo. I have uploaded a second demo if you'd like to try. I like your suggestion about the exit being a door instead. It would make more sense to a first time player.

Extremely nice music! Art is pretty consistent, I like it. Would like more animations, for instance, monkeys are not that visible because of their colors and they don't move yet. (I hope you will animate in full version!) I love the smooth feel of the gameplay, and levels seem carefully and nicely constructed. All in all, excellent work so far!

Great work, the only things that look a bit rough at the fonts and the splash screen. But since it's a demo I am guessing you will improve those. I got nothing on the game itself, it looks and plays nicely.

Hello! Thanks for coming over here to leave a review and play! :D I was going for a sort of Sonic / Yoshi's Island kind of vibe so thats good! One of the levels in the full game is even based off Green Hill Zone! haha

So yeah I literally went underground, it was more like a glitch but anyways I love how this game is well drawn, the background seems pretty good same with the platforms, I didn't like the music it was kind of annoying and repetitive, other than that it was kind of okay... try to recheck the game to spot any other bug and fix it.
