Stop Motion Short - Paper and Clay

Share Collapse

This is my final project in my ANM 180 class! Had to use multiple kinds of media, which was super fun. It's a shame I had to rush the end, though. I was literally still animating when the animation lab was closing ahah.

I'll catch yall later.

Really excellent, I thought the music and sound worked beautifully, and the animation was extremely polished. Especially liked the design of the paper character.

The only thing holding back my 5th star is the minimal narrative, but at this stage it's a very successful screen test!

TheFlippmeister responds:

Haha, thanks much! Yeah, I had to keep the story simple due to time restrictions and all, but I'm glad what I had gotten done was successful!

I love stop motion, and I do it myself, and I need to ask you a question, what kind of camera, what kind of surface are you using, and WHY ARE YOU SO GREAT, my only pet peeve with this was the music and that was it, and otherwise I loved it, it's great, and it deserves more.

TheFlippmeister responds:

Thank you very much for those kind words! I used a Canon EOS Digital Rebel T3 from what I remember, and just used a grey illustration board as my surface. As for the music, I agree with ya there, stock music can be a little grating after hearing it so much. I just had to be careful with copyright shenanigans and all. But thank you again!

Great work, very neat

TheFlippmeister responds:

Thank yoouu~

Great animation dude, i love clay and paper projects like this :D!!!

TheFlippmeister responds:

Aaaaa thank you! I'm super happy you like it!

Looks great! I would be happy to see a second version or part of this, but maybe with other materials! :)

TheFlippmeister responds:

Thank you! I would love to make another part, seeing as this is kinda incomplete haha. And adding other materials would be a great idea!
