Extreme Edit: If you still want to play this game post 2020, you must commit to some research, which you might start here: https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1462882

EDIT: Thank you for the frontpage feature!

This is the sequel to the game "Playing With Letters".

Instructions are stated further down in the description.

The 'solution' to the first 'puzzle' is as follows:

"I understand"

More about that is in this news post, along with a hint about the secret ending:

http://lucidshadowdreamer.newgrounds.com/news/post/968499

(Also check it out if you're having trouble with the riddle).

This is a text-based puzzle game.

It is highly recommended that you play the original before you play this one, even though it's not absolutely necessary:

This game probably won't be easy to beat, but hopefully it'll be just as entertaining as its predecessor.

INSTRUCTIONS:

- press 'z' to progress in the game.

- press 'enter' to either give a solution, or to draw the next line of text if the screen is not yet filled.

- press 'backspace' to immediately draw out all the text on the screen in order to speed up the game, especially if you've taken a break and quickly want to get back to where you left off. Naturally, 'backspace' also deletes any text you've written.

You can usually find hints in the title of each level, or occasionally, even by hovering over the medals.

Please don't write any walkthroughs in the reviews.

This game is as much about the story, as it is about the gameplay.

As a bonus, if you want to watch me play the main theme, I recorded the process and uploaded a video of it:

I don't want to drag this description out any longer, so please...

Enjoy ^ ^

Just stumbled upon this series, and it's been great fun. You've got a fun wit in your writing, and it was fun to learn a new way of encoding words!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks a lot! It's been a while since someone last was able to play these, because of all the Flash stuff. But I'm glad you were able to enjoy them! I've got more finished puzzles already, but I'm so busy with other stuff that I don't know when I should create the last one. I think I'll eventually end up doing it even if all demand will have died down at that point, since I've had fun making these ^____^

It is way harder than the first one, as I needed help for this one, while the other was easier to do in my head. I did take the google joke as a free pass, so it stayed doable As a non native english speaker, the riddle let me baffled for so long, only to find out my third try was the right answer. The first part of it wasn't hinted well enough. Other than that, you need to meet with Phi from VLR, you seem to have the exact same superpower.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

I think that it is a bit harder indeed! Your are totally allowed to use google for these games, especially for algorithms and so forth. The riddle could've been better implemented; I should've accepted a few different options, but I don't want to go back and change it now. Thank you for playing, and for reviewing!

Bravo! Outstanding sequel to your original text puzzle game. Very dark and twisted theme with excellent accompanying music. Really sets the suspenseful mood. Well done.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thank you for all the praise! I'm very glad that you liked the music, the atmosphere, as well as the game in general ^____^

Utter brilliance once again, especially by a non-native English speaker! English is my second language and I still strive with 'nagging rams', so... kudos! Following you so that I will not miss the third game (I really hope you will be releasing it!)

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thank you for your support! I don't have a timeline, but I do still on releasing a third game at some point in my life when I have a bit more time to spare. I already have most of the puzzles figured out, and written down in notes.

Simply darling!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thank you for playing :D
