As a viewer or consumer whenever I saw any deodorant TV commercial while sitting in my living room with my parents, it always make me feel awkward as mostly they show a beautiful sexy women trying to seduce or she is running all over in bikini and at that time my parents usually change the channel or if the remote is in my hands.. I have to change channel too... for obvious reasons.
This is the story of many families all over India as our Indian society is not much comfortable with the female skin exposure or watching male female intimacies on screen with family. So, I thought why not to create an idea which is interesting and can be seen with anyone and obviously convey our messege i.e. (men attract women when they put on deodorant or women are easily approachable with this product) but it should not make anyone feel awkward while watching with their family.
So after analyzing all prospects and keeping the age group of the target audience in mind which is mostly 16 to 35yrs, I decided going with the games which they played in their childhood.
As the human tendency is that they got attracted to the things related to their childhood and they have a little soft corner for the things they played in their childhood. And Tommy Waterful Ringtoss is the game that we all played in our childhood... and it's a long time that we have not seen this game and almost forgot about it. So, my idea is that while watching TV alone or with family, when audience sees the waterful ringtoss game on their tv screens... they will definitely wait to see what is this new thing and remember that this was the thing they played in their childhood and when they see that the rings are not getting inside with just a little margin, they will be excited to see what happens next. And then they see one of the stick got blue (stick symbolizes the men an blue colour symbolizes our product) and all the rings automatically get inside the stick and fighting to go first (symbolizing women). Then our Product take a heroic entry under the water and the product window appears.
As we all know the emotions plays very important role in the advertising... this ad is also leaving a emotional sentiments in the minds of the, audience that makes them remember their childhood.
