v1.5 - Massive performance increase in WebGL version. Please let me know how it runs for you!

This started out as a personal weekend project, but as time went on I couldn’t stop polishing it and adding features! Now it feels almost a shame to not make an actual game out of it.

I ended up with a breakout type game that I believe not only captures the original game’s feel but also adds a little spice.

I would love to hear your ideas, critiques and reports on any bugs you may find.

There are not that many levels right now, but if people are interested I would like to start creating more.

Thanks, I hope you enjoy!

even though this is just atari breakout and the powerups have been put in before
this game just sucked me in to make it to the leaderboards, i really enjoyed it and the indestructible, moving and blocks that you had to hit along with balls trapped in cages made it a creative and Original twist on an old classic game. i really hope you finish it.
(and i got first on the leaderboards :D)

Hahaha I see that! How many tries did that take? I can't even get on he board myself, 85k is pretty intense. I even tried destroying all the unbreakable bricks and came nowhere close.

Well thanks for the kind words hashtagstone, really encouraging.

It is somewhat a classic Arkanoid game, but with a lot of creative spins: like moving blocks, indestructible blocks, lasers and even fireballs in cages. And all that with a bunch of diverse power-ups and very fluent animations.
For all those reasons, I really enjoyed it, good job!

I'm really amased about how good this game is. There are a lot of aspects to discuss, but only positive things can be said about the game. First of all, this being a game made in unity, i expected it to be much more buggy and unpolished, but it's working really good and doesn't seem to have any problem. Second, what you did is that you took a great game concept and made it even greater. This game reminded me a lot of DX ball 2, one of my all-time favorite games, but yours felt actually better; it surprised me with a lot of new power-ups and level layouts and I really enjoyed playing it.
What I feel that you shoud improve:
-a pause button would be really useful, as well as a menu accessible from there with some basic functions
-having the option of listening to some music while playing, something retro, chiptune-ish, or whatever you think it fits best
-of course, more levels would be really nice, you could try making separate "sets" of levels, like some for beginners and some more hardcore
-some newgrounds medals would also be nice, but not mandatory, still, i think they would attract more players.
Overall, I find your game amasing and I can really see that you put a lot of effort and dedication into it. Keep up the good work, you have my respect!

Thanks for the kind words sergge! You've made some great points and I'll definitely keep them in mind. I'll have to take a look at the NG api to see if medals would be hard to implement.

Thanks dtoillion! I'm happy I went back to the drawing board on the paddle, it wasn't always so dynamic.
