Note: The game has been updated to v0.25 now

Second Note: Music in this game was released to public domain by Halcyonic FalconX. All sounds can be muted with the M key. Most of the monster art in the game has been drawn by AbjectusHaeresis.

Third note: Artwork for characters are currently in the middle of being updated by RokuMoku. So, some old art and new art is still mixed together. If this mix bothers you, you can click the main character icon in the bedroom to switch to the old artwork for now.

There exists in your home town a school that teaches Adult Students how to harness their unique magical gifts to survive the wilderness as Adventurers. Your character has just joined this school in hopes of finally having the chance to learn how to use magic.

Each person has a gift for a certain kind of magic, which impacts the kinds of magic they can learn in each of the four major schools of magic. Yours is the Gift of Control. Will you use your gift to become the Hero of the School, or will you use it to make the School and everyone in it yours?

This game is in an Alpha stage, and has no ending yet, though it does represent roughly a year and a half's worth of work. This is the first H-Game that I have worked on, and so any feedback would be great to have.

Since the game is not yet finished, here's a walkthrough for the content currently in the game so you can tell if you have done everything that is available to do on your current playthrough.

I have a Patreon campaign in the hopes of getting my budget to balance out. If you like this game, and would be interested in some perks such as early access to future game updates and high res versions of my art, it would help me out a lot if you could give it a look here: https://www.patreon.com/Changer?ty=h

It's a really fun game, it has humor, choices, music and gameplay, but there's only one little problem, everytime I save and then quit, I lose all my progress, this has happened 3 times now, I get to lvl 10+ then I make a stupid mistake, exit the game, load it back up, and hope my save isn't restarted... I'd be fine with restarting the quests, but I lose my levels, they aren't difficult to gain back, they're just tedious, quests are easy enough, but I also lose all my slaves/companions (I like being evil) please make some way of just gaining levels for things like this that happen, if someone uses it to cheat, that's them, but for someone like me, who has played over an hour on this, and keeps losing his progress, I feel as though this function would only be fair, thank you for your time, oh, and other than that, it's a pretty solid game, maybe could use a few more spells, and a way to check your stats, even if it's just from the bedroom, like, click on the bed or something like that

Is your browser in an incognito mode of some kind, or are you using Chrome? Chrome has issues with Stencyl's saves for some reason, while incognito modes in browsers often don't save cookies which flash games rely on for saves to be persistent.

You can check your stats by opening the menu with Enter. You can also manage your party there. The stats you see when nobody is highlighted are yours.

There seems to be nothing I can do to advance any battle or plot mechanics after reaching floor 11 in the dungeon. There's no sigil, note or exit on that floor and there's no ability to interact with any character in any room. There should be some sort of ending (both mechanically and in the plot) before this kind of void is presented to the player.

HypnoChanger responds:

The 11th floor is the deepest floor in the current version of the game. I did indicate that the game is not finished, with the version number not yet having reached .5 yet. Due to the ease at which the player can alter the story they are in, it is not feasible, nor would it be enjoyable to rush one storyline to the end just to have an ending while leaving the rest of the storylines behind. In order to allow the player to play how they want to, I am trying to keep all storylines and sub-plots fairly balanced in their amount of content.

This is a fun game, but after completing the curse sub plots for the 2 first party members, they left my party and I can't figure out how to get them back. I think after the art update is complete, and after the game is finished, I think its going to be awesome.

HypnoChanger responds:

Press Enter to bring up the menu, from there you can click on party member icons and then click on the slot you want to put them in.

interesting game...roleplaying is always fun.

HypnoChanger responds:

I think you did great making this game cant wait till the next update and I cant wait to see what it is like when you finish the game. what I like the most about this game is the game play and how you can choose to be a hero or villain I do not see games like this very often I hope you keep updating and keep making games you are great at it. Overall this game deserves five stars.

HypnoChanger responds:

Thanks. It always annoyed me how in games with "morality systems" the game would not allow it's main story to budge for your alignment. Causing villainous characters to be shoehorned into doing good deeds "for evil reasons" or good characters doing evil deeds "for the greater good".

I am hoping I can continue to improve the game as I make progress.
