Awesome!
Mel e Maçã (Mel and apple) is actually just a small exercise i've done for a facebook animation group last year.
Recently I've been working on organizing a proper portifolio, so I picked it up and decided to give the short this old-school classic look just for fun (and that's why the character is not dressed as a 30's chracter, because it was not the original intention to make it so)
Mel is a character me and my sister created in our childhood inspired by our real dog, a black dachshund, which had the same name.
Did the animation on flash, just added the old movie effect in an overlayer on premiere
Awesome!
What an adorable animation. Thanks to the wind, they finally got the apple!
I'm also curious as to how the apple is the only object that has colour, compared to all else and the background that are monotone. There seems to be a strong symbolism here that I am not seeing. Either way, great job!
Thanks Blades! Well, to be honest I wanted the apple to be the only coulored object just for aesthetics purpose. I didn't mean any kind of simbolism, but it's an interesting point if you think about it. The apple is food needed for life, so could mean the struggle to survive... Also the apple is often refered as the forbidden fruit from Eden...
Hahaha I don't know. Great thing about art in general is the subjective aspect of it and the power we have to atributte diffent meaning to it. By raising a point of view I didn't had in mind when I came with the movie you really made my day! Thanks again
