Really stylish. Good music and sound effects.
It has a nice challenge progression as speed goes up.
The simple idea works for me, one of my favorite ld35 games so far.

I... guess this has potential? The square isn't actually square(and square is just a special case of rectangle anyway) and the skull breaker just feels... meh. The music could also use a longer loop, and after the initial "WTF am I supposed to actually do?" phase the game just doesn't feel very challenging... does the difficulty even ramp up at all?

Gravedrinker responds:

Thank you for your feedback. This was done in 2 days for a game jam, and since I did all the art, coding and music myself I couldn't get in all the features I wanted. I'm collecting feedback from people and then thinking about remaking it with more features and trickier challenges.

The speed does ramp up, and it also spawns in new obstacles after a while (the spinning lasers). I toned down the speed up to avoid making it "developer hard" where I think it's a breeze and everyone else thinks it's frustratingly hard.

If you have an idea how to improve the powerup, I would like to hear it.

A rectangle basically just being a square, I don't know, try arguing that with your math teacher. ;) The reason I chose it was because despite having 4 corners as well, it's a much different shape from a square than a simple circle or octagon would have been, and also easy to tell apart.

Simplistic yet fun I'd like to see different power ups maybe, or one makes your game speed up. overall well done though
