**Note: The music used in this game was released to Public Domain by Halcyonic FalconX. Also, a lot of the monster art in the game has been updated from my lower quality artwork by

** Second note: This is a "Clean" version of Adventure high with some changes to reduce the amount of mature content that I have been told some people may be uncomfortable with. If I missed anything, let me know and I'll correct it.

The game has been updated to v0.23, and with that update are a couple avatar art updates. It will take some time to get all the art assets updated, so there will be some new and old art side by side in the next few versions.

There exists in your home town a school that teaches Adult Students how to harness their unique magical gifts to survive the wilderness as Adventurers. Your character has just joined this school in hopes of finally having the chance to learn how to use magic.

Each person has a gift for a certain kind of magic, which impacts the kinds of magic they can learn in each of the four major schools of magic. Yours is the Gift of Control. Will you use your gift to become the Hero of the School, or will you use it to make the School and everyone in it yours?

This game is in an Alpha stage, and has no ending yet, though it does represent roughly a year and a half's worth of work.

I found a bug where while playing the plant dan went hungry and now i cant click anything hes stuck

HypnoChanger responds:

Sorry about that. I had fixed that bug, but must not have uploaded the fix to this version before starting to work on the next one. The bug will be fixed when the next version comes out on the 20th. In the meantime, you can avoid the problem by killing the sprout first, rather than the slime in that fight.

There's an incredibly annoying bug or something in this new version. During Julia's dialogue it skips past the business or pleasure option! So annoying! Otherwise it's a great game, it's just now there's no TnA.

HypnoChanger responds:

That is intentional for the clean version; as there is no nudity in the clean version so there isn't anything you can do other than "business" in that situation. If you prefer having the mature scenes included, I am still including them in the normal version of the game.

I really appreciate the effort but if this is a reworked version then it deserves criticism.

The palette (pink dialogue boxes) is atrocious, the art is generally poor. Of course if you are doing everything this is understandable.

The music choice is questionable to say the least. Basically the same beat is played regardless of what is hapenning on the screen. How can you have any atmosphere when there is constantly "disco music" is playing. It is a distraction. If you have to use free music you have better options.

The worst part is as others have pointed it out is the writing. I cannot fathon how you can tell so little with an avalanche of dialogues. The dialogues are VOID..there is no content, let alone any information that has to do with the "main plot". The characters are hollow/uninteresting and thus does not engage the player to wish to learn more about them.

The battles offer no challenge. Each battle is literally the same, you select a spell then click on a monster. Occasionally you heal a party member. It becomes a mindless grind after a few times. Also, why do you have to watch the engage screen again and again just to read a line which says the monster has fled? Would it not have been a smarter solution to not bring up the engage screen for that "battle" at all? Just a short line on the map saying "monster fled" or something instead of having to constantly switch between screens for literally nothing?

Since the battles offer no challenge completing quests like lifting curses off your party members just does not feel rewarding. There were no difficulties to overcome.

I stopped playing the game after I got to the 9th floor. I completed the "mind quests" then I was looking for a note on lvl5. It was at this point that the constant battle screen pop-ups made me quit the game. They just come flee...and this is repeating over and over and over and over and over and.

I actualyl like the art and the monsters you came up with. The rest of the game needs serious reworks.

I have been starting to work with an artist to update the artwork in the next version, though it is slow-going. It may take several updates to get all the art replaced. I unfortunately do not have a lot of options for music. I live in a place where I cannot get DSL or Broadband internet, so I have to work with a very tight data limit. Downloading countless pieces of public domain or creative commons music to find the right one blows through that data limit very rapidly. I do plan to try to get more musical variety when I am able to access unlimited data.

The main focus of the writing is on the characters, with the main plot sort of going on in the background at first and slowly becoming more prominent as the game progresses. I realize this is backwards from how it is typically done, which might lead to it feeling off; but I do want the characters to be more than vehicles for pushing the plot.

Combat is simple for now due to a limited library of spells to choose from, though as I add more spells with unique effects, it will begin to require more strategy. I added monster fleeing fairly recently to help reduce how much time is spent on easy battles; it is still going to be tweaked to get the right balance, but it exists as it is due to an effort to reduce the annoyance of wasted time.

I know there more to this version, but it kinda feels like there's less. Part of that is I'm getting a lot of lag in the game, which I think is on my end. But I'm also not finding a lot of the scenes that were in earlier games. Which for a 'clean' version I understand, but still seems like less.

totally ripped off music from Epic Battle Fantasy and art is mediocre with a mediocre plot...

HypnoChanger responds:

That music is not ripped off; the creator released it to public domain. Also, I creditted them in the first line of the description
