This is my section in a collaboration among local Portland animators to the song "Sunroof Cadillac" by The Floozies (used with permission).
It was super fun to animate this cute fox dancing around and morphing! I can't wait to animate more stuff like this! :D

Not bad

Great style, love the funky effects! This looks like a lot of fun to animate! Love all the squash and stretch goin' on!!

jessejayjones responds:

Aw, thank you so much Genevieve! That means a lot!! :D

Cool man, did you use toonboom to make this? Love the lines and tones, not to mention the video distortion. Nice touch! The frame by frame work is really playful and looks superb! I very much like how the distance between character and point of view is under constant change. It creates a nice sense of depth. The choreography is all over the place, but other than that I'm liking this very much!

jessejayjones responds:

Thank you @Whirlguy! I animated the roughs in Toon Boom, cleaned it up in Photoshop, then composited and added the glitch effects using After Effects! :)

Great chalky character style. Love the smooth 'straight-ahead' look of the animation and even the 'glitchy' look as the character's near the screen suits the music well. If I can offer anything in the way of critique, I'd say you could push the rhythmic feel of the animation even further, really emphasising the accented beats with a punchy visual accent. You're doing that already to some degree, probably more in the second half than the first half though.

jessejayjones responds:

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to check it out! :) I definitely learned a lot from making this to improve on for next time!
