This is definitely one of the best games I have played on newgrounds. (in my opinion)
The grapnel is a great concept. More lives as you go through, different enemies, different obstacles, boss fights, a pistol. Great game

The game is good but the mechanics of the jumps are really very bad, I'm sorry but it's very frustrating

In spite of the lack-luster mechanics, this game manage to be pretty etertaining. From the very beginning the story does feel interesting, like there is indeed something going on , the story kinda reminds me one of them 80s scifi movies but can't remeber which one exactly.
Now when it comes to the gameplay, it feels like you got ambitious but hit below the mark, the sword fighting needs polishing, some well thought rules that would make it a more engaging rather than a chore that one will skip when the opportunity arises.
At the top of my head blocking feels too gratuitus, this fighting mechanics would benefice if there was some sort of counterattack move, but thats my humble opinion. The gun one gets after defeatingthe first boss, it is so weak, there is little point to it, it could be more powerful but the ammunition could be scarse in order to force players to judge better when to use it. the grapling hook(?) I know this is not Bionic Commando, but this mechanic was a headache. The grapling hook did not seem work when needed, and it isn't quite clear at which distance one have to be from those "nodes" in order to use it.

All in all , it is a good game, and I would encourage you to come back after a while and revise it, polish it more, you might be surprised of details that you missed or the new cool feature you might come up.
