The concept is quite cute. I'd personally prefer to aim and make friends with the mouse and actually move with WASD or the arrow keys, but that's just me ^_^
A health (or hate) bar would be nice to let the player know how much they still can take (since I'm not sure whether I'm being shot with lasers or metaphorical rays of enmity and antipathy by not yet friends).
I'm not sure if this was intended, but on a new try I spawned in an empty world with no obstacles and one friend to be stuck to the right screen border, allowing me to make over 100 friends without any challenge. I even could leave my mouse there with a macro clicking every three seconds, making friends at the exact same spot over and over again.
