This is a rant by Harlan Ellison, a famous award winning writer. I have set the rant to animation as best I can. I hope you like it.

The writer is right. People complain about being underplayed but then try to make others work for them for free. You work you get paid. Like the face expressions.

The only value I got out of this your using Harlan Ellison. Unfortunately your style was such that I did not take the time to finish your movie and instead went to Youtube and got more entertainment out of watching an actual video of Harlan Ellison doing the rant himself. Perhaps you could improve on your animation a bit before trying this one again.

spacezoomer responds:

I agree wholeheartedly with the fact that I need improvement on my character animation. That is not news to me. However, if I am understanding you correctly, and you want me to try animating this clip again at a later date, then yes, I may or may not do that. We'll see.

Not great. Harlan Ellison is doing his thing, but your animation is pretty lacking. It looks as if you made this in paint and just set a slideshow to fast. Some kind of short loops like waving arms would make this more engaging, and while simple black and white graphics are totally doable, you need to finish each scene and draw complete scenarios. That means characters and backgrounds and lip syncing.

I actually animated it in Toon Boom, but yeah I agree that it could be better with proper lip syncing and backgrounds. I guess I didn't bother with anything else after that one brief loop of the ringing phone and the little bit of Harlan picking up the phone. But I agree with your criticisms and I will take them to heart.
