This is Grand Adventure! Part of my Adventure! series. In that I worked on a series of odd projects with Adventure! in the title.

It is unfinished. It's like 95% done but the last little bits never quite came together. Programmer after programmer dropped out before it could all be quite placed how I wanted.

It's... interesting. Kind of an atari graphics attempt at a weird horror esq adventure game.

Things the game does not have or that sucks:

The load screen minigame. There was going to be a cool load screen minigame. It was finished, but taken out of this build to work out some bugs. Never got put back in.

The 'true' ending. There was to be one last ending that currently is not accessible as it required completing the load screen mini game.

The final boss was going to be remade less lame.

The second boss in the jungle was going to be made less bullshit. Seriously, if you get to that boss you'll see what bullshit it is. It's such bullshit. It's beatable, but way harder than it needs to be.

Lots of other small things. Still, it's been just sitting around my dashboard for almost four years, so I thought I'd finally just publish it in its unfinished form. Why not, right?

All the music done by the amazing Andrew Haung. Find more of his stuff at andrewismusic.com

All the programming was done by... well a few different people. Something like ten different programmers worked on it on and off back in action script 2. Sheesh! They all dropped out for various reasons. Maybe I'm just no fun to work with?

The hand drawn art was done by the irreplaceable Jhomar Soriano. His art can be seen, among other places here: http://jhomarsoriano.blogspot.com/

That's about that. Enjoy this unfinished weird adventure game thingy.

Just a heads up guys, the game is finished. Check the writer's page.

At first as I saw the preloader thought this game would be horrible, but then it surprized me, the game mechanics with the deflector shield worked surprisingly smooth and the game told a good story with very minimalist means. The flashback art is very beautiful. Too bad there is no good ending where the cycle is broken and hero survives. . Another thing I didn't like is the character being just a little block and the pointless class selection which changed nothing about in game appearance, not even color, not to speak about gameplay, better to remove it at all if it is unfinished and pointless.

Emptygoddess responds:

Yeah, the preloader used to be a cool maze to play, but that got taken out.

hey guys im having trouble finding the gems for the last ending i think its there cuz the creator said its been fully finished i think im just dumb haha. If anyone has any hints to help me find them i would really appreciate it. On a side note this game is one of the best ive played i would love to play any other games you have made

i remember playing this right when it came out and there were no walkthroughs so i had to figure it out myself but it was very fun to play.

Emptygoddess responds:

Damn. This is actually incredibly well made. I'm surprised it isn't more popular than it currently is. At first I had the feeling as if it was going to be a short game with a cliche "forgotten lover" story, but as the game went on I literally became emotionally attached to the story.
I'm sad that we don't get to see the "true" ending. I definitely like the "must beat minigame to see the true ending" idea, pretty unique. I hope you can finish it somehow someday. Definitely want to see the guy and the gal together.

Thanks for caring. Also, I dunno, it was way more popular than I expected.
