Nice cute game, but the mechanics need to be revised. To jump higher, one needs to move faster, which makes no sense as the Y and X axes are independent of each other in terms of the force applied (running) and gravity. More importantly, it is frustrating because it forces you to rush as fast as possible, but 90% of the platforms are small ledges, and thus the cat will hurl itself off the platform at full speed, making it quite frustrating to play. I got to the last level, but quit due to the running mechanic.

KeroseneLab responds:

Thank you for for the feedback! To be honest I tried to make it a bit frustratingly difficult :) But It's good to know if it was too much.

Graphics and general mood: really nice.
Intro animation: great.
Gameplay and game feel: well... that was quite terrible to me.
- First, the Space button is never a great choice when reflexes are needed (I will check if the controls can be changed, but I doubt it).
- Second, the "the faster you run, the higher you jump" stuff makes sense in the real world but it seems like, in this game, it is just used to add "fake" difficulty.
- Finally, the last "level" seems too random, I passed it by praying, reached the moon... bumbed into it, and fell to my death. I am now really frustrated.
I think efforts should be made on this, because it has the potential, in my opinion, to be a great game.

Thank you for feedback, It will surelly help in making new games and maybe a ver2 of Ghost Town! About running and jumping, I am a bit confused, as Rhuminus mentoned it as well. Isn't it a main physics rule of mario? A thing that builds the difficulty?
Oh and I didn't think about key rebinding, that would be so usefull!

Nice short game. It is tough though. Ending is funny.

KeroseneLab responds:

Thanks!

i like it.really tough early on tho

KeroseneLab responds:
