cute and enjoyable short game. its a bit slow and the text moves a bit fast for me, but i like the art style and effort

Although painted graphics are clever, the game has a terribly slow pace. The game loads slowly, has huge and frankly samey environments that must be traversed at a snails pace. The sound is really loud, and there's nothing I can do about it (Although it's a nice bit of guitar playing).

Small things don't look good with whatever pant effect you're using (or if you're using real paint, then whatever technique you're using needs to be modified for smaller things). Extending on the previous point, the large starfish looks obviously enlarged, I suggest you paint a fresh starfish, but larger (and maybe even shrink it down to use for the smaller ones).
The boundaries in which I can move are notably more hard edged than the painted scene that I see.
You could really benefit from scaling down the game, not in terms of length, but in terms of size. Everything is big and takes a long time to get across, which makes it feel oceany but does not make for a nice game. Smaller environments, perhaps even smaller fish in the environment, and possibly some faster movement speed too.

Frankly I don't like the game, even though the base idea of painted graphics is a clever one. And it is for that clever idea, and the games unpleasant functionality, that I give you one star.
