It was good work, well composed, and fluid.
As to faster paced? I might suggest it for the imagery being flashed 'in her mind's eye' or even simplifying the breaks from scene to scene... Those could be simply white flashes or a fade to white or black and back / onto the next scene cut. Of course, it could just be a question of style. There's plenty of imagery out there for the suffering vs. what should be important... and that's why you could pick that pace up a bit, even if we (audience) lose some, it won't be bad. Anyways, just a few thoughts and suggestions. You could revisit this sort of project on another image/controversy theme. Frankly, sometime down the road, I hope you do... see where you've grown and progressed.
So overall, pretty f- cool.
