This is an animated music video for Starbomb's song "Inky's Lament." Please support the band Starbomb and check out their other great songs!

Support me on YouTube too? and see more content ;)

This particular song deals with the tyranny of Pacman and his iron-fist rule over poor Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde. I decided to go for a style that other Inky's Lament music videos haven't really done and draw the ghosts without mouths, even though they are singing.

Inky's Lament is an original song written and recorded by Starbomb, and it can be found on their second album, Player Select. Look for more videos from me, hopefully some Game Grumps animated and some more Starbomb animations, such as Simple Plot of Metal Gear . . . before I get on to my own songs and series.

Check out my YouTube channel as well.

I did not write or record the music for this video. Please see above links for the original artists. The animation for this video was created by me, Jim C. of "Epic SaveRoom" productions.

We are just getting started. There will be spoofs, more music videos, entertaining series, all of which are about videogames. Please subscribe and be on the lookout.

Since I've seen other animations based on this song already, it kinda feels less original each time I see it, even if the ideas aren't all the same. The trip outside the arcade machine was a nice twist at the end, and yet I get expectations on this based upon the others I've watched, like how there's no visible lip sync/movement to match the vocals (which, if this was the first animation I'd seen of the ghosts, might seem natural considering they have no mouth), or that none of the other characters are present when they're heard, especially towards the end when they all warn Inky. Pacman seems to appear at random intervals too, not just at suitable pauses in the music, the animation doesn't always follow the music overall. But, animation wasn't bad. Would be great with original audio as well, but if that's not possible, maybe some more obscure parody music that hasn't been animated yet? Keep it going!

EpicSaveRoom responds:

I thought of making this after seeing the other pacman videos and I included a mouth on inky in the first scene but decided to not do it. The other videos were very literal with the ghosts running from pacman and singing together and there wasn't an explanation for why Inky was soo excited at the end, he was just shown standing there singing about his 'moment of triumph' but nothing was different than any other day, so I had the game falling apart so he thought he had a chance. I also don't like pacman having teeth like everyone does, just a personal thing. I wanted to do a lot different that I hadn't seen, color changing walls, ghosts always being transparent and ghosting through each other, trying to make Inky sad with eyes instead of his mouth. Scene changes instead of always them being chased. I don't expect to catch up to the video that has 140,000 views so why not be different. Also, this is literally my first animation, I learned how to use the program I bought then made this immediately after. Thanks for your input, maybe I'll make an updated version at some point, but I'm moving on to some Game Grumps animated and a few more Starbomb songs that don't have videos yet.

The visuals were nice and the audio quality was good too. This was not the best video on the song but it is certainly not the worst. Good job.

I always love these Starbomb animated videos. I thought the animation was fluent and great! 4.5!

EpicSaveRoom responds:

Thanks! Crazy, I am already getting way more votes and comments here than I did on YouTube when I posted this.

Nice, fluid, well timed and colourful animation.
You managed to express the ghost's emotions very well.

Haha it's pretty funny. I wish the main guy had a mouth though. I like it.

EpicSaveRoom responds:

The other Inky videos have mouths and originally the ghosts don't in the game unless they are in fear mode so I decided to go with just eyes.
