Not really a movie or anything, simply an animated illustration with music. Nothing complicated.

(The song is a cover my sister made of Steven Universe's opening song. Check out her original songs here!:

Steven Universe. Yeah. It's clearly up there with Adventure Time, Flapjack, Regular Show and Over the Garden Wall as one of favourite cartoon ever. Maybe even my favourite of all? Maybe...
I don't think they'll ever see this message (but who knows!), but I want to thank the creators of this show for being simply amazing. Thanks Rebecca Sugar for all this!

So here we go, an animation of Steven and his bro lion, chilling by the sea and singing. Wanted to try the show's art and animation style, and it was quite educative! Sometimes, it even made me want to be a cartoonist a little bit. But then I thought of all the work and time I put on THIS SINGLE SIMPLE ANIMATION, and I'm like "naaaah". Hahaha.

This animation, along with the song, is so hypnotizing

Cool, good job! I like how you kept it true to the show's style! Just add a little bit more movement in the frame next time.

ZeTrystan responds:

Sure will do! It was my first time testing most of those little animations, but as soon as I get better, it sure will be more animated.

It's very pretty and easy on the eyes. The only thing is, there's really no animation to be seen. Steven's head is rocking but that's about it. I would have loved even a walk cycle, anything, but as it is, it's a bit too stiff to be really "be" anything yet. However, I'm seeing this is the first animation you've submitted in 2 years. I'm hoping this is just the beginning, and you'll continue to make beautiful cartoons. I love the backgrounds. Can I ask how you made them? All in all, nice work, but there's room for improvement.

ZeTrystan responds:

Actually, I would have sent that animation in the "Art" category if I could, but swf files are not accepted. :(
The backgrounds are based on the ones of the show, so I just tried my best on Photoshop to make something that looked like them. Nothing really complicated here, actually!
Anyway, thanks for your comment! ;)
