This is interesting! I can see potential in this.
Now I know this is supposed to be a hard game, but you should consider adding abilities that give the player agency over the icicles (but in a limited amount) because in 90% of all cases you won't be able to get through those icicles. Maybe an ability to slow icicles down in a given radius? Icicles outside the radius will compress forming a wall impossible to cross if you time it wrong, but the game is still considered hard because you only get a certain amount that recharge over a set period of time (e.g. ten crosses). This will allow up to get higher scores than, say, one, while making the game interesting.
Not sure... This appears to be the beginning of an interesting game.
