haha..
How many sets your Pikachu got left, bro?
haha..
lol leg day!
Okay, well there are several things wrong with this movie. My first problem with it is that in concept, this was a terrible idea. There is no reason for this parody to even exist, there's been a million Pokemon parodies already. I believe this short was created purely for the purpose of referencing a popular video game, and that is not a good basis for a movie idea.
Now creating a parody would be acceptable if it actually brought anything new, funny, or interesting to the table, but it fails at this as well. The joke is humorless. Don't skip leg day? What does that even mean? What's suppose to make that phrase funny?
And another thing-Pikachu looks grotesque. I think he was made muscular in an attempt to be funny, but it made me feel uncomfortable and awkward. He looks stiff and lifeless. The way you used tweens to move his body is so painfully obvious, and it looks lazily done. I will give you credit though, when Pikachu talked at the end, the mouth was very well animated. However, this minor accomplishment is hard to appreciate when the rest of short is void of emotion.
As for sound, hearing Pikachu breathe like that contributed to my uneasiness. The intro is extremely lazy, and slightly annoying. But, when you were talking over the white text, you did have a good grasp on voice inflection.
So, these are the things you need to improve upon:
*Better Writing/Joke Telling/Story Telling
*Improved Art Direction, with a basic understanding in movement and motion in animation.
*More subtle use of tweens
*Something different for an intro from humming
*More animation, and less text blocks
Thanks for your critiques. To be honest, This was maybe my fourht month or so of playing with flash so I tried to just make something using the little bit of animation I knew from other youtubers and animators such as Jazza. I made this in around a day's worth of work (which was mostly be figuring out what the hell tweans were).
Also, I would like to explain that "Don't skip leg day" is a common phrase used amongst the fitness community since many weightlifters tend to only work their upper body. Another common variation is "Friends don't let friends skip leg day."
I was also watching the original Pokemon seasons on Netflix the day I made this so I just drew something that I knew somewhat how to draw (Pikachu and "grotesque" looking muscles). And yes the muscles were made to make you feel uncomfortable. The entire Pikachu was made to make you feel uncomfortable. So I guess I didn't do to bad for my third of fourth try at using flash.
Again, thank you for the critiques.
Oh, and thank you for the compliment on the mouth movement. This shit is hard.
hahaha, well drawn, and funny, he looked like a bodybuilder hahaha
good work, nice short, mate.

Thank you, sir! I am uploading the few that I have made right now!
