Theres a Man in the Woods

This was my final film at CalArts and it was based loosely on a rumor that spread around my elementary school. I used flash for the animation and photoshop for the background painting.

This short is really nice.

This is one of my all time favorite student films. Most are great, but this piece goes above and beyond.
It has really visually stunning and iconic scenes and characters, beautiful animation quality and fitting sound design and music. The voice for the main character was young sounding, but it still works. I love the pacing, writing and overall storytelling with a nursery rhyming theme since it takes place in an elementary school. The subtle details like sids facial expressions, the sounds of the car as the teacher gets out, and when he leaves the staff room we see sids moms reaction. There's a reason viewers still remember this cartoon years later.

Theres a man in the woods is timeless.

L Bozo the kid deserved what hes gonna get

mann wtf why he got a big ass forehead, up to his fuckin scalp and its like he told his head to fuckin square up or something and he got the fuckin old 90 year old man in a retirement home haircut

This child makes a spreads a false rumor makes his teacher lose his job gets a bunch of families worried about something that's false then the teacher starts rhyming and explaining facts like he's a part of the JURY in court then says there's a man in the woods. And all of that was for honey suckle.
