It's a pretty long game, so it make take a while to get into the swing of things.

After a harrowing quest to rescue his kidnapped Goomba pals, Koopa must chase down a mysterious robed assailant to rescue Bowser. Can you rescue your king and complete the game to 107%?

The result of half a decade of on-and-off development, AKR2 (A Koopa's Revenge 2, an initialism) is my biggest project to date. There's a bunch I would like to have done differently, some design-wise, a ton code-wise. But regardless, I'm proud of the final result.

And a special thanks to the Newgrounds Audio Portal community for creating all this great and available music. I don't know what I would have done without it.

The game tends to run pretty poorly in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer. I recommend Chrome, or even Firefox.

Reviews

Heh, for some reason all the text is unreadable for me because it cuts off at the right side of the screen.

Oh well.

the game itself controls pretty nicely, the story is told in these nice little cutscenes, the music has a bad sound quality but is overall pretty enjoyable.

3.5/5 pretty solid

That'd odd. I used the Flash default fonts, so they should remain on screen. I tried to keep the filesize down for slower internet connections, but the audio suffered. Some songs compressed better than others. Thanks for reviewing.

nice work...total 90's flashback. now i need my kid to get me 99 lives with a cheat so i can finish the game!

SECRET, DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT IT SPOILED: There's a cheat for that. on the map screen, press the x and y keys simultaneously.

A good game, but a hard son of a bitch.

I like my games how I like my women. Wait, no.

what's up with such a small screen. It makes no sense in this day and age, but the game itself was pretty good.

Basically, I started development a long time ago, and the whole game was built around that aspect ratio and size. You can always zoom n with your browser, but things tend to get a bit wonky looking. Thanks for reviewing.

I'm not sure what's up with all of the hating and whining about this game, I actually think that it's pretty solid.
It's obviously a work of love for the series, and I'm fairly impressed with how much you put into it.
Well done.
I think I've played the first one a long time ago, so it's cool to see a sequel here.
Keep up the great work man!

Thanks, glad some people can enjoy it.. Haters gonna hate, I guess.
