Ghostbusters - Bust In Peace #2

WARNING - This is not really a game! It's basically an INTERACTIVE ANIMATED COMIC. Every now and then you'll get to choose the next panel, making a decision that will slightly alter the evolving of the plot.
PREPARE FOR A LOT OF READING

------------

This is the SECOND chapter of the trilogy.
However, the submission includes chapter 1, too, for those who haven't read it yet.
Third and final chapter's on the way!

------------
Thank you for the daily second place! And my first weekly trophy! I'm really grateful!
------------

I've always been a great fan of the Ghostbusters franchise.
Maybe because both the movies and the animated series were such a big part of my childood that I still remeber them fondly.

... Then, as most of you might know, Harold Ramis, the actor impersonating Egon Spengler - and co-writer of the movies - passed away. May he rest in peace.

That's when I decided to make this comic. The idea just popped to my mind and refused to go away.
You won't find much drama or angst in here, though: I want this to be a (modest) tribute to Ramis' talent for comedy.

It required some work - especially 'cause I had to custom edit most of the sprites I used, since I can't really draw - but here's the second chapter of three.

Hope you'll like it, the next one will be online in about two months!

Thank you for your time, please forgive my bragging and... enjoy.

P.S. In the canonical timeline, this story would be settled between the second movie and the most recent videogame.

P.P.S. I want to personally thank one of my friends for his support, whose nickname here on NG is "Tonio" - go check his great music!

Needs the skip that #3 has that really hurts this one esp if you are going for the medals
Makes this a lot more annoying.
I do see the amount effort in these.
not too hard too get 100%

Second part of this interesting game, that also includes the first part - I love the fact that you can get the same medals all over again.

I really like the choices in games of this series - they are not always about caution or always about aggression - you must carefully understand the situation trough vague hints and have knowledge and understanding of Ghostbuster lore and spirit to understand the best choice.

I am proud to have solved the main choice that would seem less optimal in real life but made the most sense in Ghostbusters universe in the first attempt. I didn't chose the right book at first time trough, but the hints were there I saw them when I replayed clearly.

Very good game:
- Great story, both entertaining and sensible.
- Witty dialogues.
- Good music and sound effects.
- Good pixel style graphics.
- Lot's of medals.
- Choices were very well made. The best options were not too obvious and in the same time not too hard to guess if you think and understand the situation well and have a general Ghostbuster knowledge.
- True to Ghostbuster's spirit.

Why my rating is not perfect:
- There is no skipping to choice points when replaying for alternate scenarios and medals like in the third installment of this game.
- I would like to see this on fullscreen and with an animated cursor instead of the default windows one. But these features are not included.

Muja responds:

Thank you for your detailed review!

great series dude! you're definitely one of the best game developers on this site.
one thing though, you wrote that harold ramis passed out. you most likely meant that he passed away ;)

Muja responds:

Of course I meant "passed away", such a silly mistake and you're the first one in YEARS to let me notice! Thank you! :D

And I'm very glad you liked the series, thanks again! (There's a third episode too, in case you've missed it)

not a bad comic its far out

Muja responds:

Thanks a lot, glad you had fun!
You'll find the third and final episode here on Newgrounds, too!

pretty cool little comic like the different choices both story lines are good

Muja responds:

Thanks a lot!
