Hey cool front page thanks!

Turn those speakers up!

Hey I made this a while ago for the public domain jam on The idea is that you take a story in the public domain and retell it as a game, and you also had to include paper in some way. The source code is in the public domain, too, but it's like complete garbage because I'm bad at programming. And I'm not saying that because I'm kind of okay/self-conscious – I really mean it.

So I made the game and I think I got 5th place which is pretty cool. I was gonna upload it to NG right away, but I got all caught up in some other shit and I dunno here it is now.

There's no goals or score or anything, which means it a gay art game and it sucks. That's a joke sorry mom sorry I said gay. There aren't any hidden metaphors or morals or unintelligible garbage so shut up and enjoy it IT'S JUST SUPPOSED TO BE "NEAT"

After 10 seconds I thought this game was a complete waste of time, after 3 minutes or so I totally changed my mind. This is a proper art game and well worth the experience. It captures a certain sense of emotion and conveys it to the player (participant) in a really beautiful, sweet and captivating way. I was genuinely sad when the birds flew off!

It's probably got no replay value, but it packs a massive emotional punch for such a simple game. There are massively more complex games on NG and elsewhere which deliver nothing like this amount of engagement and connection.

That's not what happened, Icarus went home and made a Newgrounds account and played stupid artsy games. I still don't understand how a paper airplane can glide through the air whilst being in space. :3

I think it's science or newton or something

I burned up in the sun. But before I was crisped into oblivion, I saw a beautiful ocean, made friends with some birds, reflected on my thoughts high in the night sky, and witnessed the almost ethereal grace of the stars and ink of space.

In all seriousness, not bad. It's a calm art piece that brought a modicum of tranquility and contemplativeness to a day that was otherwise entropic and bleak. Nice work.
