As a kid I remember battling Onix with Squirtle's most innocent yet deadly move, bubble. Now watch it from Onix's perspective.
the only thing i did not like was that bubble attack that was affecting onix seems more like a confusion attack . overall I understand where you are coming from and good job. these newgrounds commenting people, do not understand the uniqueness of animation and that they are numerous in genres. what they do not understand they do not appreciate but appreciate this and you actually inspire me to make up a Pokemon saga base on the Diamond and Pearl game that i have played.

the difference is this one is more boring, less trippy stuff. This also has sound quality issues like not being able to understand Brock, or onyx nearly blowing my head phones off my head.
Inspiration is one thing but if you even fail to go all out on the jokes and visuals like your predecessor, then yours will just be viewed as a cheap knock off, nothing more.
I thought the bubble joke would go another way(like onyx starts shuddering and shaking like crazy then stops and explodes into gray dust or something while the trainers look on in confusion.) but instead you did what high5toons did, but you didn't even have the pay off or punchline of pikachu does acid.
So it just felt like a waste of time.

I don't like when I am compared to that video since I saw that one years ago. I wasn't even thinking of it when I made this one. When I was a kid I thought that bubble was a funny move to wreck Onix since it is one of the least destructive things in real life. Comparing me to that is like comparing Facebook, myspace and the rest of social media websites. These may be similar ideas but they are different and instead of wanting to hate on either of them you would have more fun just enjoying them both.
