Not bad - but the timer shouldn't be going when the help screen overlay is on. ;)
Year 2030. No more water on Earth. You are on a mission to travel to deep and dark space to trace an old map, which leads to a planet believed to have water.
Let's meet the main players.
---------------------------------------------
SPACE MAP : 12 levels of planets arranged in increasing levels of difficulty levels. They are named real galaxies in the increasing order of distance from earth. Also, shows random, interesting space facts, like when you look at the stars you are literally looking back in time .
Meteorites : Bad guys, hangs about in space and causes you trouble. Well, you got your guns!
Comets : Comes straight at you from far space. A bit more difficult to shoot down, but more score!
Pulsars : Goes active and inactive in fixed intervels. When active pushes you away from it. fast!
Black Holes : When active, they pulls you down. Not good!
Twister : Stay away when active, or you will be spinned around in space.
Dark Matter : Moves around in space, bounces off other objects and hits you bad. You can't see them, that is worse. But you have your proximity indicator to spot them. Besides, you have a Radar Scanner, which will make them show up.
Happy Gaming!
Game Notes;
A space shooter game with lot of bullets and action. There are multiple levels of increasing difficulty levels and a variety of space obstacles to overcome. You can also learn some fun space facts on the journey.
This is my first ever HTML5 game with construct 2 FREE version. I have reached every single limitation of the free edition! Tweaked and re-tweaked to add another line of code. Kindly give your feed backs so that within the limits, what I may improve, I can.
For Co-Coders
I have reduced multiple line of code to one liner complex code to be able to get this project completed. Here a sample ONE LINER which will handle the entire scrolling of backgrould. Self.X - (TiledBkGrndSpeed * dt * (((abs(180-PlayerShuttle.Angle))-90)/90)) .
Not bad - but the timer shouldn't be going when the help screen overlay is on. ;)
Things I liked :
On-screen tutorial and Story line and tutorial
design of the space map and the information notes in it
New concepts like invisible enemies
Artwork and Overall game play
Things I did not like
The timer starts running when I am reading the help screen. Not fair.
Toward the end, the rocks goes way faster than the normal ones without any warning. Very nice twist, but could have mentioned it earlier.
Sound can be inproved a bit.
I read that you are stuck with the free version. Wish you good luch to get a licensed one. Or get one yourself, surely it will be worth for such creative minds as yours.
You have taken a very common, very old concept and put it it a new bottle. Not boring at all. Nice artwork and engaging game play. Please make a infinite running style version and add a rating system too.
Good one. First few levels, it's like in an introductory mode, and the gradual increase in difficulty was enjoyable. Good luck!
Very good game. First time I saw a game with 'space facts'! I give you 5*s for that alone, even though I am not a very good fan of that motor sound. You should make a infinite runner version if you gets the license. Will wait for it.
