at the start i noticed the green tunic and I though that he would have been stuck there and drown.

Link can´t run with Iron boots, but he can do backflips
P.D. Link was trying to do a back-flip to avoid the Shell Blade
and he was in the water temple of Ocarina of Time, and he was able to breath underwater without his Zora tunic because of magic, Duh.
