IMPORTANT: I've been told that occasionally you can get out of bounds. ( A combination of my crappy coding and the 48 hour limit. ) If that happens, press the [D] button to die and respawn. Sorry about that!

Swim your way through caves, avoiding traps and solving execution based puzzles!

Press [f] to go full-screen. (Very slow on old computers)
Press [m] to mute the sound. (Sounds currently playing will keep on doing so.)

This game was made in 48 hours for Ludum Dare 29. If you have any problems loading, try refreshing the page. It may take up to 30 seconds to load on an older computer or with a slower connection. For the best performance close all other tabs and use Chrome or Firefox.

haha i spawned a bubble on my fish family and fucking killed them hahahahaha

I love the Ecco the Dolphin - but - easier vibe going on here. I'd love to see a post-compo version with more enemies, more open space, ability to eat... kelp maybe? The music is perfect, the graphics are cute and colorful, the controls feel great, you just need to tighten up the behavior when a barrier appears on top of the player (rather than setting their velocity to bump them out, it might be better to find the closest adjacent open space and *put* them there, and actually cut their velocity in half).

Took me a long time to figure out the bubble throw, but it's a cool mechanic, that more than anything needs to be developed.

I really liked the design, but the choice of [control] for charge was a terrible one. 1, for usabilities sake because we're all used to different controls and 2, on a mac [control + left] is a shortcut that changes the screen making gameplay practically impossible.

Jools64 responds:

Ah, whoops. I didn't know that was a shortcut on Mac OS. (I've never really used one.) I will for sure never use that as an important key again. I'll stick to z and x. Thanks for letting me know!

A cool game. For a 48 hour game the graphics are very cool. Gameplay was simple but nice. I didn't experienced any glitch. The music was nice and relaxing. It could use a story, I think. I mean, the player could know that the fish is trying to reunite with his family, and why are there electrified blocks to prevent that. Good job.

Does not load at all.

Jools64 responds:

Sometimes you have to refresh to get it to load properly. It's unfortunately just unreliable to load files using JavaScript sometimes. I'm going to look into making multiple attempts at loading files if they do not load correctly the first time. Thanks for letting me know.
