Fishy Waters

Catch fish, sell 'em and upgrade your boat to explore new seas and discover increasingly exotic creatures of the sea.

You set out on your journey when the heroine's father is swallowed whole by a monstrous kraken. Determined to rescue her dad, she sets out with nothing but a scrappy old boat and a sturdy old rod.

Control the game with the arrow keys (or WASD) to move, and to reel back escaping fish. You can throw out your line with the spacebar. The rest of the game is controlled with the mouse.

1.1 A small update, fixing the following issues:
- There is now a hint to sail around to find fish, if they’re not biting in the open waters.
- The Kraken has been training and has gotten a lot tougher!
- There is now a clear ‘End’ in the final cutscene.

Normally most games don't keep me glued to the screen but this one did. This is so much fun. You really pulled my heartstrings with the story and I was so happy in the end when the girl was reunited with the father. I also like the chill atmosphere and how easy it was to navigate around the map. Do keep making games like this but do make the boss a bit harder or different.

A good game, with a cheerful atmosphere that i liked. But it took me no more than half an hour to finish it.
I hope that you can make it longer and with more elements in it. For sure, you have the talent.

I play and enjoy a lot of games on newgrounds but I'm rarely pushed to leave much more than a rating but I enjoyed this game so much that I just had to say so. I loved it just as it is but I could also see the seeds of a really amazing full length game. Add some interactions and rpg elements and this could be as good as harvest moon. Seriously loved it. Thanks

I really enjoyed this game! It was repetitive no doubt, but since we never stayed in one place for too too long, there's no reason to mind. The graphics and music were great, the controls were great. My ONE complaint was that the Kraken shook the screen so much that it generated some lag (though my laptop sucks, anyway), which in a game like this, really hurts. It wasn't major, but got a bit annoying. Other than that, great work!

Lovely art style, music and little story. Didn't have to upgrade everything to beat the game and fairly easy but over all a great game.
