well, you guys are two weeks (a bit like me!) into learning how to work with flixel, so i suppose i have to be less harsh while still remaining thorough. i'm not very used to this, nor do i do it often, but i'll try.
so, okay, dragon deathmatch!
dragon society must be pretty dang crazy pitting a baby against a three-headed menace in an unfair fight to the death, hehe
menuscreen! or i guess... start screen! i don't really understand the press 's' to start because usually people use the 'fire' key and not an entirely irrelevant key but i guess it's not much of an issue at all
graphically and in terms of typography there isn't a lot to say because flixel really limits what you can do with graphics but i think you did some neat stuff
i will say that i don't think you paid as much attention to the enemy's wings as you did to the heads and it looks a bit over-simplified. the same could be said about the clouds.
and the gameover screen's 'blood' is really blocky
audio-wise, ehh... not much audio at all but the music is a bit repetitive and dull. the sound effects sound a bit more like lasers than fire, but i dunno what's possible in flixel so
onto gameplay!
the shooting is kind of weird since the fireball sort of fires from the dragon's wing instead of the mouth/head
the hitbox is kind of wonky too, since i'd get hit sometimes but it'd go through me other times, usually when the fireballs 'hit' my wings. thought it was weird because graphically all parts of my wings get affected.
speaking of damage physically changing things, i like what you did when we hit and get hit by the dragon! although it looks more like it was cut up instead of burnt by a little baby dragon, haha
the clouds are supposedly impenetrable even though the other dragon's fireballs go through it. unfair, but i supposed it adds to the challenge. i like the idea of them dispersing if you hit them enough and reforming after a couple of seconds, but that might make it too easy unless they're really layered on. maybe something that limits how much you can fire since the little guy can fire insanely fast infinitely
i also noticed that sometimes when i was messing around and spamming fireballs on clouds and moved and i wasn't even hit or anything but it'd just give me a gameover screen
although i guess i shouldn't have fired at the clouds so much
overall it's an alright game for people who are only two weeks in
graphics and difficulty are mostly what it's got going for it right now honestly
