So this is just a time lapse video of a various screen captures I took when I was making this background in flash. Not anything really flashy, but I hope it is at least interesting :)

Honestly, I wasn't that impressed by this. It looks like there are some people who like it a lot. That's fine for them, I suppose. I don't even think the final product is that good looking. It was also too short. I know time lapses by their very nature aren't supposed to be long, but it could have been better.

It's nice that you appreciate your own work. This was just not enough for a submission. The music wasn't bad. This wasn't that special. The colors could have more shading, too.

ToonCastleTV responds:

Heh, yea that may have to do with the video quality and the fact that this isnt even really a speedun, just a fun project i decided to try.

Nice That You're jumping into making animations/movies with flash. This kinda stuff is more prominent on youtube. I don't know how it'll be judged here. You might like to jazz it up a bit more, giving explanations on the steps involved, an insight into the thoughts behind what you were doing perhaps, and more of a flow with the transitions. Don't do those spin cuts, or any cuts that show the void behind; try to do smooth, fade in/out transitions over areas that are being changed, and cut when moving to a different part of the artwork or changing view.

Good luck with your next one and I hope the criticism does not dissuade you from further attempts.

ToonCastleTV responds:

It definitly will not, thx for your feedback :)

I'd much rather see a timelapse than a slideshow of your progress, this usually gives a sense that the viewer is along for the ride instead of just seeing what happened. Just a note for future reference.

ToonCastleTV responds:

hey I appreciate the honest review. Perhaps this may happen in the future!
