I get it now. In order to get Fastest Santa, you need a score between 9700+ and 9799.
I would advise to have a score above 9750.
You cannot be TOO fast, nor TOO slow. When I had 9805 score, the medal didn't unlock.
But the medal unlocked for 9782 score.
Fastest Escape *does* work! If you can't get it it's because you're not fast enough. Yes even if you got through in a few seconds, that's still probably not fast enough.
For reference, your score decreases as time goes by, so it depends on having a high enough score. It unlocked for me with a score of 9775. I believe when I had a 9600-ish score it did not unlock (because that wasn't fast enough).
Also, yeah, you gotta already know a certain thing (which you find out by playing the game normally) if you want any shot at the Fastest Escape medal.
I guess the medal for fastest escape is not working, since I escaped in 9-10 secs.

I got Santa out of the chair! :D if you escape the chair the code for the BLUE box will show but get Santa out the chair for the key to escape good game in my opinion
