Minecraft As An RPG

Share Collapse

When a team of players make a server, it normally is half-assed and doesn't have a purpose or end goal. Dewcraft has changed that. This server is freaking awesome! There's even quests to complete and a storyline to follow. Add this server to your list if you like minecraft and RPGs.

Good I guess

I wish this was a real game it would be awesome:)! I love the way the video is made the graphics are awesome, the music is amazing its all well put together to bad I cant give 10 stars

As mod on this server my review isn't completely objective but i'm doing my best.

Trailer (4/5):

I realy like the way the trailer was made, music is nice and images are beautiful. But maybe in the text we should have added something that mentions we're using the faction plugin to adress the pvp aspect of the server abit more. All in all a very decent trailer.

Storyline (5/5):

Very well put together can't realy mention olat of downsides to it. Maybe one is that alot of the people who join the server have some trouble finding our where the storyline starts. Other than that: it's creative, of good lenght, encourages people to explore the map, encourages them to work together to accomplish things and so on.
little downside to the teamwork at this moment is the fact that the community isn't big enough and alot of people get stuck on some of the group quests/events. this is mainly the reason why only about one fifth of the soryline is completed by the most active players.
But, a good storyline and thats not often seen on minecraft servers.

The Map/overworld (3.5/5)

The map forces players to travel to find resources which slows down the gameplay alot. Most minecraft players don't like this. personally i enjoy traveling on a server. Even as a mod, everytime I travel the map i keep finding new things I didn't know of. this is to reward people who actualy take the time to explore. Everything is custom made and balanced out pretty well.

The Mods (4.9/5)

This is mainly the topic where our server is different than others. The admins have been spending alot of time balancing all the mods, therefor there ar almost no Overpowered items. this gives every person who joins the server a equal chance of starting up their own Dewcraft life. But this is not the best part. most modded servers ban so many moditems that it's just useless to even keep the mod. On Dewcraft admins took the time to make sure that items that pass protection normaly don't do that anymore, almost all mod items are allowed. No more checking banneditems lists that change every two minutes. I'm sure It's not only me that loves this.

Staff (4.5/5)

At this moment we have 5 admins and 2 mods, and almost 24/7 there is atleast 1 person online to help. They are not always playing on the server. but If they are online you can find them on their Teamspeak server. teamspeak allows easy support and makes it very easy to be helped whenever you've found a glitch, got stuck in a worldguarded area or just if you want someone to talk to.
The staff is always friendly but this doesn't mean that kicks or bans won't happen if people disobay the rules! We are kind but strickt.

All and All i love this server, it's original and well constructed.

Minecraft in it's core is a survival game. However in Multi it's always RPG. There is always someone who takes a certain role just because they like it. It has a story however it sucks.
How the server looks however is a whole different thing, No matter how hard I tried to see if there was anything special I couldn't find it, it was a haze of generic builds, it may be of all the amazing builds that I've seen over the years. However I enjoyed the video it was nicely edited and informative.

Maybe it's just me. But all the years I have been playing MMORPG's, the only thing I thought of during the opening flying sequence at the docks was... "This looks awfully like EverQuest's South Qeynos Docks." But nonetheless, the trailer does look really nice.
