I was sticking around with Flash 8 for years and used ActionScript 2, so I wanted to try ActionScript 3 and noticed, that there is not as much difference as I thought. So here is my first work I've done on Flash cs5.5. More to come soon. :)

Not bad for a first attempt. You will need more than 1 enemy type to keep the game going and you will need a better sword animation.

Well, you completed all the basics, but the enemies were too difficult to hit. If you want to improve this, add more weapons with greater range which can be purchased by points or coins dropped by enemies. A background and scale of difficulty for enemies.

Great character design! Although there is only one enemy to kill and the Background is just bland white. I am giving you at least 2.5 stars for game design. Put more enemies into the game and maybe stronger swords to buy.

The characters are from the RPG Maker sprite set, only the other graphics are by me.

I understand your feelings about the difference of AS2 and AS3, but I noticed you did manage it well! It's nicely done actually, a good starting engine. But that's that; it's only an engine, that's why I put a 1.5 in the review. A nice start, nonetheless. So I suggest you put up some work in creating a sense of game in your engine! Add a storyline, add some good animations, and maybe a little variety in what you attack with. Add different stages with different mobs and a goal to win the game This could end up in a style similar to the one in the classic first Zelda game. I hope you submit a creative game with this engine soon :) It's gonna be fun to play. Good luck.

Thank you! I'm planning to create a RPG game based on the things I've learned while creating this. :)
