Phil the Phoenix

Share Collapse

"In a small mountain town, there lives a boy named Phil who, at random, turns into a Phoenix and explodes! And as a pile of ashes forms, he pops out of it back in his human form again. Day after day this occurs, and the whole town hates him for it. But as they find out, this disorder could be the one thing that saves the day...."

This is my senior thesis film for the Kansas City Art Institute. It is also the reason why I haven't uploaded very many videos the last year.

It's easy sometimes to feel like you're the cause of the whole world's problems. Having a disorder you cannot help often times adds to that anxiety. Growing up with Tourette's Syndrome, as well as other neurological problems, I've felt my fair share of that, but I lived through it, I never let it consume me, and I came out on top in the end. And that is why I wanted to make this film, because I wanted to reach out to people who are feeling the same pain--regardless of whether they have a disorder or not--and show them that everything will be okay.

I hope you enjoy it. :)

Very Awesome, inspirational, thx

I loved it, I can see the effort put into this. Great work.

Man! I'm so touched on the breakfast part. His parents still accept him despite his very difficult condition. It was sweet.

animeation could have been better..but hell i loved the story!

the animation could use a little work mostly the scorch marks in my opinion the scorch marks around the posters just bug me but the idea is interesting as i watched i kept thinking get this guy to the x-men lol this was also a little long
