Very cool. It was a little short but I don't think I've ever seen such a cool concept put together in 48 hours. :) Really successful, I liked the fact that you had fewer de-evolutions to be honest. It made it seem like the person was indeed human, and being stripped of his entire body down to his soul was pretty brilliant. Had he been able to shoot lasers it would have seemed like he was this all-powerful person being knocked down a peg by this ominous force. By making the character an everyman, it made your statement of humility all that much stronger.
The only thing I would ask for is harder obstacles and maybe a bigger game screen. (I didn't listen to the audio so I can't critique that). The gameplay was difficult but really there wasn't too much of a consequence of losing limbs except for the big water level and the ending level where you can't see yourself. Losing your legs was almost easier because you only had to roll downhill this way and that way, not sure how you would have made that harder but it just seemed like a favor more than an added obstacle, maybe longer falls would have been good?
All in all one of the best platformers I've played in a good while, definitely worth the stars. :)
Great work and good idea, normally as you advence though game you gain new abilities, not lose them. As a great man once said
"only when you lose everything, you appreciate what you have"
perfect little game. the music was spot on and near perfection in my eyes. Great Job!
Interesting game! I almost stopped playing because it seemed just like a general platformer with not real unique features until I lost my legs. I enjoyed the "de-evolution" idea that seemed to be at play here, but I wish you had done a bit more with it tbh (a few more stages of devolution or have something more impactful happen when you lose your arms etc etc.)
- No resume game system, not a big deal but :(
- Graphics are quite nice
- Controls feel a bit "sticky" on occasion oddly (during stopping and starting)

More lost limbs would have definitely had more impact, but it was already tough enough to get the game done with the 48 hour time limit.
Originally the character was supposed to be able to shoot beams and he would lose that ability first, but I had to cut that out.
