Join the captain in his glorious quest to find the Amber Helix.

Use the mouse to move and the left mouse button to fire. When your shield is damaged it only regenerates if you don't fire. When you die you lose some or all of the experience you gained on that level and the percentage lost depends of difficulty chosen and upgrades bought.

Updated to v1.25
- Fixed a bug that sometimes caused stage and story completion to not save as it should.
- Fixed a bug that caused the metamorphosis dialogues to appear all three at once in New Game Plus if you bought an upgrade.

I enjoy the this game with its good combination of upgrades, achievements that give you a reason to go after them, but most importantly is the intriguing story. I like the game even if it may be a little monotonous at times, but the previously mentioned perks and the music make it a pleasant game

Awesome game. I made to wave 28 on the first endless stage and amazing no lag with all the bullets and enemy ships on screen. You coded this game very well.

This review is premature, since I just finished the first set of levels, but I'm enjoying the game immensely so far. Upgrading the ship seems to be a lot more enjoyable than similar games, and the rotation of enemy types keeps things interesting. That being said, the game is a little too long, but I'm dedicated to beating it! Great work.
Edit: Five years later I still remember this game. The soundtrack is excellent, the story is excellent, the gameplay is excellent. I would pay money for this. One of my all-time favorite games, and in a browser no less. Fantastic work.

Finally made it, took me a month or so but end it; dude, it is too hard to upgrade, and even though the story is to be liked and so are the characters but I think they need a little bit more development rather than just tons of narrative of what happened before. I liked this a lot although I won't be going for + dificulty. (On a non-that-related note You got me worried with that storyline of yours since it has a lot of elements that could be considered too similar to those on a novel of mine, fortunately you wandered off that path) Congratulations

Great game, sir! Other than the great game play what really stands out in this masterpiece is the story telling; and man, what a story! You have the makeup of a great writer; such a rich tale presented solely in text conversations. You should really think about writing a book.
Great game, thanks for the experience!
